A quick, and somewhat late update. We're more or less entering post production now, with all footage finished, the big wheel editing complete and the dragonfly animated onto the blue screen, awaiting to be put onto the file.

Week 7

This week, we shot the remainder of the footage needed for the video. (The Nighttime shots). Wilson finalised the model leaving Basil to animate it. James has offered to render the final product. Now that the filming has wrapped, Post production can begin. Kris will edit the video and once done me and Heather will begin to animate the 2D commponents. Basil will animate the dragonfly in the winter gardens.

Week 6

Busy week. This week we had our mid-semester presentation. Almost immediately after finishing. We decided to take advantage of the nice weather to film the daytime scenes for our video. Kris rented out a camera and we headed out into Sheffield to film. We got all the daytime shots leaving only the night time shots to be completed. Meanwhile, Basil and Wilson carried out rigging tests for the dragonfly, which is almost complete.

Weeks 4 & 5

WEEK FOUR

This week, the storyboard were finalised and a rough model of the dragonfly has been created. Heather painted a rough frame for the “eye scene” to show how it looked.

WEEK FIVE

We plan to shoot as soon as possible, so Kris produced a shot list and carried out an online risk assessment. So that he can rent out equipment from the uni. The mid-semester presentations are due in a week, so we spent the majority of this week working on that, making sure everyone is clear on what the plan is. Basil carried out animation tests for the dragonfly whilst Heather began to work on the first proper frame from the “eye scene”.
